BRICS Nations Including China Name & Shame Pak Based Terror Groups: Modi & Xi Jinping Will met tomorrow


THE five nations comprising BRICS have unanimously expressed concern over Pakistan-sponsored terror groups LeT, JeM and condemned terrorist attacks worldwide and reaffirmed that those responsible for committing, organising, or supporting terrorist acts must be held accountable. The 3 –day 9th edition of the BRICS Summit being held in Xiamen, a Chinese port city, has adoped a Declaration to this effect. The annual Summit centred on the theme of ‘Stronger Partnership for a Brighter Future’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is representing India along with leaders of Brazil, Russia, China and South Africa. He was received by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the International Conference Centre in Xiamen on Sunday. The summit will conclude on September 5.The leaders have also condemned the nuclear test conducted by Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Sunday threatening international peace and stability. Participants have also “strongly deplore the nuclear test conducted by DPRK.”  The BRICS leaders in the declaration also said they deplore all terrorist attacks worldwide, including attacks in BRICS countries, and condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations wherever committed and by whomsoever and stressed that there can be no justification. The declaration by BRICS leaders said “We express concern over the security situation in the region and violence caused by the Taliban, ISIL/DAISH, Al-Qaida and its affiliates including the Haqqani network, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad, TTP and Hizb ut-Tahrir.”The leaders in the declaration said, “We call for expeditious finalisation and adoption of Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism (CCIT) by UNGA.”

On Sunday, North Korea announced that it has successfully conducted a test of a hydrogen bomb that is meant to be loaded into an intercontinental ballistic missile-ICBM .The news reader of the North Korean Central Television said North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un ordered the test and termed it a “perfect success”. A quake was felt in northern China, with emergency sirens blaring in Yanji, near the North Korean border. Chinese Foreign Ministry issued a statement expressing firmly opposing and condemning the nuclear test by the DPRK, The Global Times reported. North Korea has friendly relations with China.

“North Korea has ignored the international community’s widespread opposition, again carrying out a nuclear test. China’s government expresses resolute opposition and strong condemnation toward this”, the Chinese foreign ministry said in a statement.

Economic, security and other multilateral issues will figure in the annual meet of the five-member grouping. Modi and Xi will meet face to face on Tuesday on the sidelines of the grouping for the first time after the he protracted military standoff along the trijunction point in Doka La Plateau in The Himalayan Kingdom Bhutan. Their last bilateral meet was during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meet at Astana in June. They met informally at G20 in Germany the following month amid the border crisis.PM Modi has met Russian President Vladimir Putin .
