IVANKA Trump, advisor and daughter of POTUS Donald J Trump, was accorded a warm reception on her arrival at Hyderabad on Tuesday with a delegation of 350 entrepreneurship to inaugurate  the three-day Global Entrepreneurship Summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi being held for the first time in South Asia .She along with Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate its 8th Summit being co-sponsored by the United States of America with India. Although Trump has been to India before, this is her first visit as a senior White House adviser. She was invited for the summit earlier this year by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his state visit to the US. A woman entrepreneur herself said she was excited to see so many women entrepreneurs under one roof. “I am proud to see that for the first time a majority of 1500 women entrepreneurs are participating in such an event.””Only when women are empowered to thrive; will our families, our economies, and our societies reach their fullest potential,” Ms Trump asserted. “After my father’s election, I saw the opportunity to leave my businesses to serve my country. Our policies aimed at helping women and removing barriers for them.” Talking about the heritage of the city that is hosting her, Ivanka Trump said, “In the city of treasure (Hyderabad), the greatest pearl is you. Trump also thanked PM Modi saying  “Thank you PM Modi for joining us today for making India a symbol of democracy and beacon of hope for India.” “Transformational change proved by you- from selling tea in your childhood to becoming PM of India.”Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao welcomed Ivanka Trump and other participants at the global summit. “Taking major strides to further Ease of Doing Business, Telangana is proud to host the world’s biggest Entrepreneurs’ Summit,” he said.PM Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had separately met her. The Ministry of External Affairs said both Sushma Swaraj and Ivanka Trump had a productive discussion on women entrepreneurship and empowerment. The venue is the splendorous Hyderabad International Convention Centre in HITEC City having a seating capacity of 1500 delegates. Ahead of the event, three giant screens ran ‘Incredible India’ videos showcasing the uniqueness of the country’s different states. The theme for the summit kicked off on Tuesday is “Women First, Prosperity for All”. This will be the first GES in which women are expected to be majority (52.5 per cent) of the participants. The theme of this year’s summit demonstrates the commitment of the US and the Indian government to the principle that when women are economically empowered, their communities and countries thrive, NITI Ayog CEO Amitabh Kant said. The summit will focus on four thematic sectors — energy and infrastructure; healthcare and life sciences; financial technology and digital economy; and media and entertainment sectors, Kant added.
