RAHUL Gandhi Slams PM Modi Saying He favours Some Industrialists Over Dalits

CONGRESS Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gujarat Chie Minister Vijay Rupani for favouring some big capitalists neglecting the Dalit Community. They have soft corners for industrialists at the cost of Dalits, he said while addressing an election rally at Ahmadabad’s district Sanad.  Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit is organised by the state government only for “5-7 industrialists of Modiji” and not for farmers, Tribals, poor, or Dalits, he added.

Referring to CM Vijay Rupani reportedly for not accepting a giant tricolour made by Dalits citing lack of space, the PM aspirant  said he would have accepted even a 50,000 km-long national flag even if he had little space to keep it. The Prime Minister Modi and Rupani have space in their hearts only for a few industrialists, but not for Dalits, farmers and poor. He was addressing a gathering of Dalits at Dalit Shakti Kendra (DSK), a vocational training institute near Sanad .He accepted a 125 x 83.3 feet tricolour weighing 240 kg.The national flag was earlier meant to be presented to Rupani. The DSK had taken the tricolour to Gandhinagar. However, officials at the Collectorate had allegedly refused to accept it citing lack of space.”This flag is not yours alone, but belongs to the entire country. He (Rupani) said he has no place to keep the flag. Even if you gave me a 15 km or 50,000 km-long flag, and even if I had one inch space to keep it, I would have taken it,” the Congress leader said.”Like you, I have a huge space in my heart for this flag. It is the mindset of the BJP CM or the PM not to accept the national tricolour saying they have no space for this flag or your hard work. But they have the entire Gujarat for 5-10 industrialists  who can get any amount of space they want in the State or across India for setting up their enterprises,” he .Gandhi  also attacked Modi and Rupani for the Una Dalit flogging incident. Referring to  the suicide of Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula at the University of Hyderabad under the Central Government, he faulted PM and the then HRD Minister now Information, Broadcasting and Textiles Minister Smriti Irani , a Rajya Sabha Member from the Western State. Incidentally, Smriti Irani, who had contested against him in the last Lok Sabha poll from UP’s Amethi, is his bitter critic She very often visit Amethi .The members of DSK said the tricolour was made by Dalits, who also donated money to raise Rs 54,000 for it.  Gandhi wants the national flag gifted to him to be kept at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum in New Delhi, they said.
